Dow Jones & Co. stock climbed nearly 9% last week on favorable analyst comment and rumors that Thomson Corp., publishers of Canada's Globe & Mail, might be eyeing it as an acquisition target. Stock brokerage Morgan Stanley reported ad linage at The Wall Street Journal was up 52% in the first quarter and that the outlook for continued strong results was good. Thomson, shedding its non-core newspaper assets, declined to confirm or deny the rumors. In trading Friday, Dow Jones closed at $69.25, up 8.95% for the week.
