Microsoft Corp.'s share price gained last week as the marketer disclosed more details of its new X-Box entertainment game console. At the Game Developers Conference in San Jose, Calif., March 10, a completed X-Box prototype was not available but Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates demonstrated the console's capabilities. X-box is slated to be launched in late 2001. Sony Corp.'s new PlayStation2 console is to be launched in the U.S. this fall. In trading Friday, Microsoft closed at $101, up 5.35% for the week.
