America Online said annual revenue from advertising and e-commerce for the first time reached $1 billion in its fiscal year 1999, ended June 30, up 84% from a year ago. Total revenue for fiscal 1999 reached $4.8 billion, up 55% from a year earlier. Net income for the year was $396 million before one-time events, up from $59 million. The subscriber count for the AOL service totaled 17.6 million at the end of June, plus 2 million subscribers at AOL-owned CompuServe.
