That's probably because she's so good at making it rain. At Bozell since 1993, and in an earlier job at Wells Rich Greene, Ms. Davis has brought in buckets of new business.
As Bozell's new-business director, she won big last year with the $50 million Bell Atlantic Nynex Mobile account and the integrated launch of a new tampon alternative called Instead, from UltraFem.
"She has an outstanding track record with new business," says Chuck Peebler, chairman-CEO of Bozell's parent, Bozell, Jacobs, Kenyon & Eckhardt. He adds that new business is considered an "extra effort" part of her job, on top of numerous managerial and existing-client responsibilities.
Mr. Peebler and David Bell, Bozell Worldwide chairman-CEO, were attracted by Ms. Davis' diverse agency background, and in particular her entrepreneurial experience as the founding president of the New York office of Omon, an Australian agency, from 1989 to 1993.
Before that she spent seven years at WRG, four years at Needham Harper Worldwide and four years at Doyle Dane Bernbach.
At WRG, Ms. Davis established the business development group, which attracted new business from MCI, ITT Sheraton and IBM, among others.
A native of New Jersey, Ms. Davis, 43, has spent her entire career in New York, but she makes up for it by traveling around the world. On recent vacations she has visited Vietnam, Egypt and South America.
Even on vacation, though, she can't stop making that extra effort: "I did store checks in South America," she admits.
