MC has achieved significant ratings growth in the key A18-49 and 24-54 demos since rebranding as "TV for Movie People" last year. AMC has evolved into a favorite destination for movie lovers, and is bringing more and more of them together with an expanded movie library, brand-defining original programming and a contemporary and engaging on-air voice.
Original Programming
Everyone has a favorite movie scene that resonates in a deeply personal way. AMC's hyper-reality series, "Into Character," brings larger-than-life to real life by exploring the transforming and defining impact that movie characters can have on real people. Premiering Wednesday, June 16, "Into Character" offers some lucky movie fans the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to live out their film fantasies.
"The AMC Project" is AMC's critically acclaimed, award-winning monthly documentary series. Each special delivers unexpected, thought-provoking viewpoints on various aspects of life in Hollywood through the lenses of some of America's most respected filmmakers. AMC will premiere three new documentaries this year: "The AMC Project: Made in Hong Kong" (June 5); "The AMC Project: Right Wing Hollywood" (Oct. 11); and "The AMC Project: Hollywood and the Holocaust" (early 2005).
Now in its third season, "Sunday Morning ShootOut" is hosted by Peter Bart, editor-in-chief of Variety magazine, and Peter Guber, CEO of Mandalay Entertainment; it features an "A" list of Hollywood guests, who provide spirited perspectives on the emerging trends that are forever reshaping the business of entertainment. » CONTINUED |

The show airs Sunday mornings at 11 a.m. ET/PT. Past guests include: Charlize Theron, Mel Gibson, Clint Eastwood, Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman and Laura Linney.
Specials
AMC airs "An American Cinematheque Tribute" each year. Prior honorees were Nicole Kidman and Denzel Washington. This year's "Tribute" will air on January 25, 2005.
To celebrate the network's 20th anniversary, AMC has teamed with Entertainment Weekly magazine to produce five movie-based specials that will air throughout the anniversary year. In October, AMC will pair "20 Scariest Movies of All Time" with its annual "MonsterFest" Halloween extravaganza. In time for the holidays, AMC will air "20 Greatest Holiday Movies" among a stellar lineup of Christmas films. Specials for 2005 include: "20 Guilty Pleasures," "20 Greatest Films of the '70s" and "20 Greatest Films of the '80s."
AMC has also partnered with Premiere magazine to present the magazine's annual awards luncheon, "Women in Hollywood," a celebration of the brightest and most glamorous women in Hollywood today. The show runs Oct. 3 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. |
