n the strength of its award-winning original series, movies and one-of-a-kind events, USA Network finished the first quarter of 2004 as basic cable’s most-watched network in primetime. USA is committed to building on its extraordinary momentum with exciting new projects and the continuing success of shows America already loves.

The critically acclaimed “Monk,” the highest-rated scripted series in the history of basic cable, returns for season three. It stars Golden Globe and Emmy winner Tony Shalhoub as the endearingly quirky crime solver Adrian Monk and Golden Globe nominee Bitty Schram as his sidekick Sharona. “The Dead Zone,” based on characters from the Stephen King novel, returns for a third season to find Johnny Smith (Anthony Michael Hall) on a collision course with a terrifying vision he’s seen of the future.

Cheyenne Enterprise principals Bruce Willis and Arnold Rifkin, along with Allen and Albert Hughes, executive produce “Touching Evil,” an original series based on the U.K. hit by British Granada Television. Jeffrey Donovan stars as Detective David Creegan, whose life-changing brush with death renders him fearless in his relentless pursuit of justice.

In the tradition of USA’s acclaimed limited series “Traffic,” Francis Ford Coppola and American Zoetrope will deliver “The 4400,” which chronicles the mysterious return of 4400 people previously reported missing or presumed dead. From an all-star team (including six-time Academy Award nominee Martin Scorsese, best-selling author Dean Koontz and Tony Krantz’s Flame Television) comes “Frankenstein,” a contemporary vision of Mary Shelley’s classic tale. The limited series, written by Mr. Koontz and directed by Marcus Nispel, is set in present-day New Orleans, where a homicide investigation begins to unravel the myth of Frankenstein.

USA Network’s upcoming original movies include “The Last Ride,” an action-packed, two-hour original film about three generations of men fueled by rebellion and driven by revenge as they confront ghosts from their past. The Pontiac GTO, in both its classic and modern forms, provides a catalyst in bringing the family together.

USA will continue to be home to exclusive signature events like the “AFI Life Achievement Award,” the highest honor bestowed by Hollywood for a career in film. This year’s honoree is the legendary Meryl Streep.

For the third year in a row, USA celebrates country music legend and American icon Willie Nelson; guests for the “Willie Nelson & Friends: Outlaws and Angels” include Kid Rock, Keith Richards, Bob Dylan and many more.

USA Network will continue to deliver Hollywood’s hottest titles, including “The Scorpion King,” “Hannibal” and “The Bourne Identity.” Joining popular off-net series “Law & Order: SVU,” “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” and “JAG” will be “The District,” starring Craig T. Nelson.

USA is a key destination for some of the biggest franchises in the world of sports, including PGA Tour Golf, The Masters, Ryder Cup and the US Open Tennis Championship. And the legendary Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show will be presented on USA for the 22nd consecutive year.
