Clinton Buys Entire Hour on Hallmark Channel for Feb. 4

Campaign Plans to Air Town Hall Event On Eve of Super Tuesday

WASHINGTON (AdAge.com) -- The Clinton campaign is buying an hour on the Hallmark Channel on the eve of Feb. 5 Super Tuesday presidential primaries to air part of a 90-minute national town hall meeting.

Dubbed "Voices Across America," it will take place in New York and will air Feb. 4 at 9 p.m. Eastern Time. The extra 30 minutes will also be available on the internet and at 21 live events across the country.

There had been speculation that with more than 20 states in contention in the Super Tuesday vote, the economics of media buys would prompt candidates in both parties to buttress local media buys with an overlay of national ad spending.

The cost of the buy is unknown at this time.

Thank God I do not have the Hallmark Channel. How anyone is fooled by her and bubba is beyond my me.

I wonder if Monica is going to be the host. :)

I am a crazy old woman. Only crazy women, young and old would watch her - but not this one. Gag. There are some women out there who know nothing except she is a women. God help us.

I guess all the poor she represents can afford a cable package with the Hallmark channel??
By lovie | Calimesa, CA January 31, 2008 09:32:45 pm:
Does she not know that "poor" people can't afford cable? Besides who wants to hear her lies over and over again. Monica should be running at least you would know that she would tell the TRUTH! Shame on the Clintons, poor Chelsea, who can blame her for not wanting to live with them. Only Chelsea knows that Monica lives there with them

Reviewing Hillary's methodical playing of the "Race card", and "The Perpetual Victim" against Obama; and, her recent commentary on Iraq; Pakistan; Energy Policy; the need for her to control the 14 Trillion $ American Economy from the White House (this from a woman who hasn't managed so much as a corner vegetable stand, or for that matter her own marriage; but, of course you could count Whitewater); Illegal Immigration; Taxes; Infanticide; Massive new Government spending; Multi million $ Senate earmarks for supporters of Hillary's Presidential campaign; Socialized medicine; and, the Clinton's history of emasculating the military, verifies that this grievously flawed woman would be the female version of the Jimmy Carter debacle that gave us the Ayatollah Khomeini who ushered in rampant Islamic radicalism; block-long lines at our gasoline stations; a severely hollow military; and, a record Misery Index. Only much worse. Considering all of her recent gaffes, e.g. "I voted FOR IT (referring to the Bankruptcy Bill); but, I was glad to see that it didn't pass.", one has to wonder if excessive use of Botox has affected her mental stability. It's no wonder that her campaign staff is shielding her from reporter and audience unscripted questions. Greg Neubeck

Please Neubeck, Your message is redundant and frankly getting old. Truth told, you'd be wise to change it up a bit because we've all seen it so many times on so many forums that the minute we see the first line or your name, we just skip right past it. The fact of the matter is that this is an extremely savvy move given the vast number of states that will be holding primaries on Feb. 5th. At this point it makes a lot more sense to get the biggest bang for one's buck rather than spending that in expensive trips flying back and forth across the country to hold individual events. I applaud her teams thinking and have to give her real points for being cool enough to draw national attention to it via the debate on CNN tonight. Touche' Hillary - slick move.

How pathetic! Why is "it" buying time on the Hallmark channel? Because that's a channel mainly watched by WOMEN!!! And who is "it" counting on to elect "it"? WOMEN!!! And you wonder why at one point in this nations history women weren't allowed the vote? Case closed!!!

Sonja: Please speak for yourself only and do not tell anyone else to moderate themselves. Haven't you ever been told that before? That you are to leave other posters alone and allow them freedom of speech? I have never heard Neubeck and I think he raises some interesting points that are new to me.

His post is certainly more informative than your nagging tone. If that is how you operate, it's no wonder that you support Hillary. She is a terrible nag and at her age and with that hatchet face, she is very depressing to behold.

I sure don't want to see her every day in the paper; besides she "wrecked" the White House the last time she was there. I would rather have someone who would appreciate "the people's house" and not break up the furniture and throw glassware. That is not very ladylike at all. Come to think of it; Hillary doesn't allow free speech either, does she? Didn't the Clintons have a couple put into jail who said something rude to them? And didn't Hillary make a rule about womens underwear in the White House? Yup; she is a terrible nag. Little Miss Methodist; lets her husband horse-around, but makes everyone else mind her orders.

Um, only one thing strikes me in reading the comments posted so far -- is THIS the depth and quality of political commentary on the serious subject of selecting who may be our next President? Nothing but childish comments that are no better than junior high taunting? Seriously, people, why bother?

From the Heritage Foundation (I know, a suspect organization if ever there was one) 46% percent of the 'poor' people in this country own their own homes. 80% of poor households have air conditioning. By contrast, in 1970, only 36% of the whole US population enjoyed air-conditioning. Only 6% of poor households are overcrowded. Two-thirds have more than two rooms per person. The typical poor American has more living space than the average individual living in Paris, London, Vienna, Athens, and other cities throughout Europe. These comparisons are to the average citizens in foreign countries, not to those classified as poor. Nearly 75% of poor households own a car, 31% own two or more cars. In addition to 46% of all poor households actually owning their own homes, 97% of poor households have a color television. Over half own two or more color TVs, 78% of poor households have a VCR or DVD player. 62% of all poor households have cable or satellite TV reception. 89% of 'poor' households own microwave ovens. More than 50% of them have a stereo. More than a third have an automatic dishwasher.

In short, even people classified as poor (62%) may be able to watch the Hallmark channel if its in their cable subscription.

Also, we may want to look at what poor really means in the US, as compared to what poor is in other industrialized countries, and hold the politicians accountable (yeah, right) for their ascertians; something along the lines of why John Edwards joined a hedge fund group to learn about the poor. Or Hillary's ascertian that the federal government is qualified to run health insurance (let alone anything else) efficiently and effectively.

Clinton's Obama strategy:

Having meticulously planned their coveted return to the White House for several years now, the Clintons will certainly not exit the scene with grace or dignity. This is the political duo that honed "The Politics Of Personal Destruction" into an artform; and, most certainly will not tolerate, who is in their mind, the "upstart Obama" to derail Hillary's pre-choreographed coronation.
With regards Slick's comments on Obama's Iraq record; and, the draft dodger's false accusation of flip flopping on the Iraq issue against Obama: It was actually Hillary who was the serial flip-flopper on this issue. Obama to his credit, as a matter of conscience, refused to deny American troops the funding for the bullets and equipment that they required to survive in ongoing combat. Hillary, on the other hand, with no such compelling principles, was one of only two U.S. Senators who voted to deny funding for essential equipments for our troops who they had "previously" voted to commit to lethal combat. A despicable breach of trust with the young men and women laying their lives on the line in defense of our Nation. Obama made the classical rookie error of not responding to Slick's false accusation, which he could have easily turned to Hillary's well deserved detriment
Barrack and his supporters best be prepared for the "Political Lynching" that will rival anything previously witnessed in Presidential politics. Further, the Clinton's methodical playing of the "Race Card" will promote a permanent schism between the Black and Hispanic communities. Despicable, and destructive to any semblence of National cohesion painfully achieved.
Slick and Hilla-the-Hun, the Perpetual Victim, have repeatedly demonstrated a vicious mud-slinger demeanor that is unprecedented whenever their political dynasty has been threatened in the past. Just ask anyone of their innumerable victims.

My, my - the vitriol! You're all so concerned about the poor. Childish references to Monica, etc.

Let's take a snapshot of reality today. Take stock of what Bush/Cheney delivered. Real problems - economy in the tank; young, dedicated military people sacrificed for oil; destruction of the middle class; record-breaking deficit; record profits for the oil companies; lies and fear-mongering; loss of respect for the US globally; moving the US towards a theocracy; only industrialized country without affordable healtcare available to all citizens; and Karl Rove.

"W" is righfully worried about how history will perceive him!

Francis Gregory Neubeck, Republican, Florida. Failed run for U.S. House of Representatives in Florida in 1986, retired from Air Force to pursue politics. Apparently suckled at the Lee Atwater / Carl Rove teat for dirty politics. Greg, I have a feeling that it's your picture next to the dictionary definition of "the politics of personal destruction," not Hillary Clinton's. For shame. Your hate-filled, mysogynistic, racist, fact-free castigations of Democrats in general and the Clintons in specific are proof that you're a sad and angry little man. I consider you atypical for a Silent Generation person -- one usually only sees this type of rabid, hysterical attack from the absolutist Baby Boom Generation. Too bad that public figures aren't allowed to sue you for slander and libel because your comments are certainly worthy of a lawsuit -- when the Democrats win this November, I hope they pass a bill to allow suits just for people like you. Frankly I'm surprised that anyone allows your type of tripe on any web site. I googled you, Mr. Neubeck, and you are an amazingly prolific spewer of despicable rhetoric and outright lies. Disgusting. If you ARE the guy that was born on April 11, 1932, one can only be happy that you're in your 70s now. I see from your online history that you've also been reported multiple times on multiple web sites for offensive and unbecoming language. Tut, tut, Mr. Neubeck. Why don't you just take a pill and relax a bit? You're going to have a disappointing election year this year when the Republicans lose control of the entire Legislative and Executive branches of government. Enjoy!
