Marketing Your Protest in Denver

Just Say No to Bird Porn

Protesting is non-existent outside the Pepsi Center -- because it's forbidden. The loud-mouthers aren't even allowed near the perimeter. So surely, they'd storm downtown Denver, right? Not really. Maybe the police have made it clear they'll brook no shenanigans. Perhaps they feel just a little guilty that their antics may have tarnished the Democratic brand and led to George W. Bush's 2004 victory. Or maybe it's just hard to get worked up to a froth in Denver. I did manage to find some protests, though, including people protesting "bird porn" (seriously, watch the video below), an angry trio demanding the return of Crystal Pepsi and a ventriloquist protesting tourists taking his photos. "I'm working for money," he shouted, "not publicity."

While the police force in Denver is overwhelming, and designed to keep protests at bay, protesters are there in droves. Fox News was caught up in the midst of one march, which alone drew 1,000 or more folks. There are numerous sites documenting the protests - a simple search will turn up many videos.
