GOP Second Night Gets 4.3 Million Fewer Viewers Than Dem's Did

According to Nielsen, overall viewership for the second night of the Republican National Convention was 21.5 million, some 4.3 million lower than the second evening of the Democratic National Convention. That's not necessarily surprising as Hillary Clinton was the featured speaker on that night. Last night's featured speakers included Fred Thompson and Joe Lieberman. What might be surprising is that 600,000 fewer people watched Tuesday night than watched during the second night of the Republican Convention held four years ago.

Also not surprising: African-American viewership is less than half that garnered by the Democrats.
