WASHINGTON (AdAge.com) -- Nielsen is reporting that its more complete results shows that 33.5 million viewers watched Barack Obama's half-hour TV ad Wednesday night.

That is well above the 22.7 million who watched Ross Perot the last time a presidential candidate bought a half hour of network TV on the eve of an election in 1996 and more than the usual 30.3 million audience on an average Wednesday night.

While less than the presidential debates drew -- 63.2 million viewers saw the second debate -- it's still a pretty healthy audience. NBC saw the largest audience for the ad, beating CBS, 7.7 million viewers to 6.3 million.
