JWT and Zenith Media Stay in Front, Says R3

BEIJING (AdAgeChina.com) -- WPP's JWT picked up $6 million in new creative business during the first two months of 2009, to handle creative for brands like Uni-President Iced Tea and Jasonwood, a denim brand owned by the Hangzhou Garments Co.

The local agency WE Marketing Group also picked up $6 million in billings by winning the creative business for Beijing Dabao Cosmetics Co., acquired by Johnson & Johnson in August 2008.

Omnicom Group's TBWA Worldwide is close behind, according to Greg Paull, a principal at the marketing consultancy R3 in Beijing. TBWA picked up $5.7 million in new business in January and February 2009 from advertisers including Deutsche Bank, the World Gold Council and InBev.

ZenithOptimedia won the most media new business during the first two months of 2009, with wins from companies like China Mobile and Schering Plough Marvelon. The agency's year-to-date billings total $107.7 million. Carat placed second, with new business wins worth $45 million in year-to-date billings. Universal McCann moved up to third place after winning media business for local brands like Blue Moon washing liquid and insurance company Ping An.
