BEIJING (AdAgeChina.com) -- The biggest mover during August was Bartle Bogle Hegarty, after winning Coca-Cola creative business in China for two key brands, Minute Maid and Sprite.

The agency's success pushed Bates Asia into the No. 3 spot, followed by DDB Worldwide in fourth place.

But Saatchi & Saatchi held on to its No. 1 position yet again after some major wins during the past few months for brands like Amway, Suning and Midea, said Greg Paull, a principal at independent marketing consultancy R3 in Beijing.

Among the media agencies, ZenithOptimedia pulled ahead of Carat after picking up business from Mars and local companies. Universal McCann moved into third place after winning more Wyeth business, while OMD moved to fourth with wins from Hutchison and Hershey.

The ranking is based on 2009 wins through the end of August 2009. R3 compiles agency account wins in China each month for Ad Age China. The new business tally uses data supplied by 26 multinational agencies on a monthly basis. The data is compared to advertisers' estimates and Nielsen's ad spend figures, discounted to appropriate levels and converted to a revenue estimate.
