78 million 3G users by 2008

China will have 440,000 users of 3G (advanced mobile phone technology) by the end of 2006, but that figure will rise to 78.08 million by 2008, when 3G subscribers will account for 13.7% of the total mobile telecom subscribers in that country. Operators will begin construction of 3G networks in China in the second half of this year.
