Central and Western Provinces Will Drive Mobile Phone Use in China

China's mobile market is dominated by the country's eastern provinces, where more than 60% of consumers own mobile phones, according to market research firm RNCOS, but future growth will be driven by the western and central provinces. Ownership of mobile phones in western China is over 32% and is growing well above 20% a year. Provinces in central China have also registered strong growth in mobile penetration, led by Shanxi with more than 14 million mobile phone users.
