China Mobile Q1 profit jumps 37%

China Mobile's net profit grew by 37% to $3.44 billion for the first quarter of 2008. The world's largest mobile phone company added 7.6 million customers, up from 5.68 million new customers sers during the same period in 2007. At the end the March 2008, China Mobile had 392.14 million subscribers, but average revenue per user dropped as many new customers were in poor rural areas. Average revenue per user dropped to $11.7 per month at the end of March 2008, from $13 in December 2007.
