Retail Sales on the Decline

Retail sales of consumer goods grew 15.2% year-on-year during the first two months of 2009. But sales fell by 3.8% compared to December 2008, the biggest decline in the past 15 years. Retail sales of consumer products will continue to be hit, predicts China's Industrial Bank, due to deflationary pressure and slower growth in incomes.
