Chinese Car Sales Dropped 10% Last Month

China's passenger vehicle sales fell to 522,800 units in November 2008, a 2.9% drop from the previous month and a 10.28% decline from the same period last year. A total of 6.16 million cars were sold between January and November 2008, an 8.87% increase.

The top car manufacturers in China this year are FAW Volkswagen, Shanghai Volkswagen, Shanghai GM, FAW Toyota, Dongfeng Nissan, Chery, Guangzhou Honda, Beiing Hyundai, Geely and ChangAn Ford. The 10 companies sold 2.98 million cars during the first 11 months of 2008, accounting for 65% of the country's sales.
