Chinese Car Sales Hit Record High Last Month

Chinese Bought 1.04 million Cars, Up More Than 98% From November 2008

BEIJING (AdAgeChina.com) -- Passenger car sales in China hit a record high in November 2009, when almost twice as many cars were sold as in the same month a year earlier, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.

In November 2009, 1.04 million units were sold in China, including cars, sport-utility vehicles and minivans, a 98.2% increase from the 522,800 vehicles sold in November 2008. Total sales, including trucks and buses, rose 96% to 1.34 million. Car sales from January to November 2009 rose 49.7% over the same period last year to 9.23 million vehicles.
