Fixed line telecom users continue to fall in China

By Published on .

China Telecom and China Netcom lost 880,000 and 362,000 fixed-line subscribers, respectively, in April. In March, they lost 920,000 and 504,000, respectively. The downturn in fixed-line subscribers is attributed to competition from the country's mobile operators, which have slashed fees substantially recently, prompting Chinese to give up landlines in favor of mobile phones.
