October Car Sales Dip but Still Robust

BEIJING (AdAgeChina.com) -- China's car market continues to grow, but at a less robust pace. Monthly sales jumped nearly 80% year-on-year to 923,154 units in October 2009. But on a monthly basis, passenger vehicle sales dropped 8.1% from September 2009, according to figures released by the China Passenger Car Association.

In the first 10 months of 2009, sales of cars, sports-utility vehicles, minivans and multi-purpose vehicles surged nearly 52.4% over the same period last year, to nearly 8.08 million units.

The association predicts full-year auto sales will grow by 44% to 13.5 million. which would make China the world's largest auto market in 2009.
