Retail Sales of Consumer Goods Up 15.4%

BEIJING (AdAgeChina.com) - Retail sales of consumer goods in China grew 15.4% year-on-year in August 2009, to $148.2 billion. In the first eight months of this year, sales reached $1,153.8 billion, a 15.1% increase over the same period in 2008. But China's consumer price index decreased 1.2% year-on-year last month, compared to 4.8% growth in August 2008.
