Retail Sales Rose 20.8% in November to $143 Billion

China's retail sales rose 20.8% in November 2008 from the same month a year earlier, to 979.1 billion RMB ($143 billion). Sales growth slowed slightly down from October 2008, when retail sales were up 22% compared to October 2007. For the first 11 months of 2008, China's retail sales grew 21.9% from the same period last year to 9.776 trillion RMB ($1.43 trillion).
