After 20 years at Grey Global Group, Viveca Chan has unexpectedly resigned as Hong Kong-based chairman-CEO, Hong Kong & China to pursue other business interests. She will be succeeded by Dennis Wong as president-CEO, Hong Kong & China on Aug. 8. Most recently, Mr. Wong was Hong Kong-based CEO, Hong Kong & China for Leo Burnett | Colin Bates to strategic planning director, Asia/Pacific, BBDO Worldwide, Hong Kong, replacing Peter Smyth, who has transferred to strategic planning director, I&S BBDO, Tokyo. Previously, Mr. Bates was an independent marketing consultant and trainer based in Hong Kong | SY Lau to CEO, Beijing and managing partner, China at Publicis Worldwide from CEO, China at BBDO, Shanghai | Mickey Chak to national group planning director, China at Ogilvy & Mather, Beijing from chief planning officer, Greater China, DDB Worldwide, Hong Kong | Shanghai-based Leo Wing Fat Lui to CEO, Media Partners, Morningside Group's outdoor/transit advertising company in Greater China, from CEO, Yue-Sai Kan Cosmetics. He replaces Winnie To, who was promoted to vice chairman | Nick Barham to planning director, TBWA Worldwide, Shanghai from planning partner, Karmarama, an independent agency in London | Angela Pong and Rachel Chau to co-executive creative directors, JWT, Hong Kong from the same positions at BBDO, Hong Kong | American Express Publishing Corp. will launch the fifth international edition of its Travel + Leisure magazine, in China through an agreement with Wen Hui Xin Min United Press Group in Shanghai. The monthly will debut in October. The WTO projects 100 million Chinese will be traveling overseas by 2020, making it the fourth largest source of international travelers.
