McCann Erickson Worldwide has appointed Thierry Halbroth as senior creative director of its Cathay Pacific worldwide account team. One of Hong Kong's best-known creatives, he was previously director of integrated services, Greater China at M&C Saatchi | The Wall Street Journal Asia has appointed Christine Brendle as managing director of the paper and the Far Eastern Economic Review, effective Feb. 1. She succeeds Winnie Wong, who joined Dow Jones in 1998. Ms. Brendle joins the Journal following a 17-year career with the Hachette Filippachi publishing group in Asia, the U.S. and Europe | Leo Burnett Worldwide has appointed Gordon Hughes and Amanda Yang, a husband-and-wife team, as joint exec creative directors of its Guangzhou office, the lead agency for the network's Procter & Gamble business in China. They succeed Stephen Mui, now exec creative director of Leo Burnett, Beijing. Previously, they held the exec creative director positions at Leo Burnett and Young & Rubicam, respectively, in Hong Kong. Mr. Hughes will maintain his existing role as regional creative director for BenQ and Siemens in addition to his new responsibilities | Danny Mok to general manager, Grey Worldwide, Hong Kong from assistant general manager, BBDO Worldwide, Hong Kong. He succeeds Andrew Lee who recently left the company. Also, Keith Ho to exec creative director at Grey, Hong Kong from director of the local shop Another Factory, succeeding Simon Fung | Adam Good promoted to new business development director, Asia/Pacific and managing director, Greater China at Tribal DDB, based in Hong Kong, from Tribal DDB's managing director, Australia in Sydney | Without a pitch, OMD has picked up Vitasoy's media business in Hong Kong. The soy food company's $10 million account was handled by Group M's Maxus and MindShare divisions for the past seven years | AMD, the world's second largest manufacturer of computer processors, has appointed Leo Burnett, Beijing to handle B2B and consumer creative for new product launches following a pitch against Dentsu, Bates Asia and local shops. The media account is handled by Carat.
