Aegis Promotes Yeh Wen-Li to Chairman, Greater China

TAIPEI (AdAgeChina.com) -- Aegis Media has promoted Yeh Wen-Li, 57, to chairman, Greater China, a new position, from chairman of its operation in Taiwan.

Mr. Yeh, who will remain based in Taipei for the new role, joined Aegis in 2000. Mr. Yeh brought Carat to Taiwan. The Aegis Group company has been the largest media agency in Taiwan since 2003.

Before that, he was managing director of United Communications Group, owned by the Koos Group of Taiwan, since 1990.

UCG also operates one of Taiwan's largest pay-TV networks. Mr. Yeh started his career as a senior planner at Taiwan's council for economic planning and development.

Aegis has also made several appointments at its digital marketing agency in Greater China, Wwwins Consulting, in Hong Kong.

Wwwins works with advertisers such as Coca-Cola Co., Adidas, Procter & Gamble, Emirates Airline, the Peninsula Hotels and HSBC Group Holdings. Wwwins became part of Aegis-owned Isobar in July 2004.

Wwwins has promoted Brandon Cheung to strategic director from account director. Before that, he was an account director at Isobar located in California.

It also hired Chris Anderson in Hong Kong as strategic planner. Previously he ran his own digital business in the U.K.

Earlier this year, it appointed Antony Yiu as search director, to meet demand for search engine optimization and paid search in the region. Before that, he was senior research manager at TNS in Hong Kong. All three executives hold newly-created positions.
