SHANGHAI (AdAgeChina.com) -- Euro RSCG has hired Edward Su as group managing director, Shanghai and eastern China, a new position.
For the past two years, Mr. Su was managing director of Yindu Advertising, an affiliate of WPP's Ogilvy & Mather and the largest advertising group in Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu province.
He has also served in senior client management and planning roles since 1995 at Ogilvy & Mather, fellow WPP agency Grey Group and Publicis Groupe's Saatchi & Saatchi.
He has worked with some of China's top local brands such as MG, now part of Shanghai Automotive, Suning Electrical Goods and China Mobile.
His Shanghai-based appointment follows two other high-profile hires at Euro RSCG in Greater China.
Late last year, the Havas-owned agency named Dennis Wong as group managing director, Hong Kong and southern China, based in Hong Kong. Earlier in 2008, Euro RSCG appointed Shanghai-based Joseph Wang as chairman, North Asia.
Euro RSCG's global network "will help us win global business, but in China, we will be tying our future to local brands," said Mr. Wang.
Mr. Su "is one of the rarest advertising talents in China, mainland Chinese with advertising and planning experience at China's largest agency groups, overseeing lucrative partnerships with multinational and domestic brands," said Mr. Wang.
