Previously, she was the regional marketing director, Asia/Pacific for Motorola Corp., developing and implementing interactive marketing strategies across its 2G and 3G product portfolio.
At Iris, Ms. Wu will focus on establishing relationships with marketers Iris works with in other markets, such as Motorola rival Sony Ericsson, as well as hiring staff.
Founded in 1999 by Ian Millner and Stewart Shanley, London-based Iris is building a global micro-network and already has a presence in several other Asian markets, including India, Singapore and Australia, but the Beijing office will be its first in China.
The agency plans to expand in other developing markets such as Indonesia, Brazil, Russia and Dubai this year.
"China will be key in shaping the communications industry with an emphasis on experiential marketing, which is what consumers are really looking for," said Ms. Wu.
Before joining Motorola in June 2007, Ms. Wu was VP of OgilvyOne in China, where she led the development of the WPP agency's digital and customer relationship marketing. Before that, she worked for Delirium Worldwide as associate business development director.
