BEIJING (AdAgeChina.com) -- OMD has hired Stella Lee as managing partner of its Beijing office, a new position created to drive new business development.
Ms. Lee, 40, is an Interpublic Group veteran. She joined McCann Worldgroup in 1995 as a media planner/buyer in May 1995 and has held various positions there ever since.
Most recently, she was deputy managing director of Universal McCann, where she was responsible for the agency's operations in Guangzhou and Shanghai for nearly four years until November 2009.
She has worked with brands in China such as Colgate-Palmolive, SC Johnson, Omron, GlaxoSmithKline, Wyeth, Roche, Johnson & Johnson, Exxon Mobil, China Mobile, Hitachi, Tiffany, Brown-Forman, Cathay Pacific, Motorola and San Miguel beer.
OMD has also hired R.K. Manivannan as deputy general manager, OMD, Shanghai, where he will lead media planning and buying for PepsiCo's food business in China -- an account won by OMD in February 2010 in a pitch against incumbent Mindshare -- while helping to drive business development.
Mr. Manivannan spent the past eight years working for Mediacom in India, Malaysia and Greater China, most recently as communications director at Mediacom, Guangzhou, where he handled the agency's Procter & Gamble business in Greater China. Mediacom worked with P&G beauty brands such as Pantene.
