Star Promotes John Lau To President, China & Taiwan

Daniel Cheung Also Appointed In Taipei as CEO, Taiwan

HONG KONG (AdAgeChina.com) -- Star Group has appointed John Lau, its current group chief financial officer and a longtime veteran of the News Corp. company, president of its operation in China and Taiwan.

Mr. Lau joined Star in 1998, as senior VP, finance and was promoted to lead the company's finance team in 2000. Prior to that, he was CFO of San Miguel Brewing International and has also held senior financial positions at General Electric Information Services, Philip Morris and Deloitte & Touche.

Eun J. Cho, previously deputy CFO, will succeed Mr. Lau as group CFO based in Hong Kong. She joined Star in April 2008 from the Walt Disney Co.

Star has also moved Daniel Cheung to Taipei as CEO of its operation in Taiwan. Previously, he was based in Jakarta as CEO of ANTV, an Indonesian television network based in South Jakarta. Star acquired a 20% stake in ANTV in 2005.

Mr. Cheung succeeds Jason Siu, who will move to a new post in Hong Kong as general manager of Chinese movies, overseeing Star Chinese Movies and Star Chinese Movies 2.

Mr. Siu will also work with the recently launched Fox Star Studios joint venture to explore and develop Chinese film production projects for local and worldwide distribution.
