HONG KONG (AdAgeChina.com) -- DDB Group has appointed Eric Phu as managing director of its interactive division Tribal DDB in Hong Kong, where he will work with brands such as McDonald's, KLM, Reebok and Philips.
Mr. Phu's new position was previously split between two people, Gina Hertel, managing director, integrated solutions for Omnicom agencies Tribal DDB and Rapp, and Patrick Tan, general manager of Tribal DDB, Hong Kong, who recently resigned.
Tribal DDB has taken an increasingly important role at DDB Group in North Asia as the shift continues from traditional to digital media, said Amanda King, Tribal DDB's president and managing partner, Asia/Pacific in Hong Kong.
For the past six years, Mr. Phu has held various roles at Euro RSCG in Sydney, including business development and operations director, head of digital and most recently, head of engagement strategy. In Australia, he worked with advertisers such as Sony Corp., Dell, IBM Corp., Tourism Australia, Reckitt Benckiser, Tata Motors' Jaguar division, Ford Motor Co.'s Volvo unit, Kimberly-Clark and Intel Corp.
"An experienced agency leader, Eric has a proven track record of success in the digital sphere; from growing digital offerings and creating stand-out, effective and award-winning digital campaigns, to managing teams and generating superb solutions for clients," said Richard Thomas, president-COO of DDB Group Hong Kong.
