SHANGHAI (AdAgeChina.com) -- Y&R has appointed Nils Andersson, 48, as chief creative officer, China, a new position based in Beijing overseeing creative at Y&R offices in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou. Y&R works with marketers in China such as Danone Groupe's water division, Starbucks, Dell and Colgate-Palmolive.
Mr. Andersson, a Swedish native who was raised in the U.K., moved to China in 2004, as executive creative director at Ogilvy & Mather, Beijing and regional creative director for the agency's Motorola business.
Before that, he was based in Tokyo as exec creative director of TBWA/Chiat Day, in charge of creative for the agency's global Nissan Motor Co. business. While in Japan, he also worked with brands like Haagen-Dazs, Chivas Regal and Adidas.
He resigned from O&M, Beijing last summer and has worked on a project basis for various companies over the past year, including O&M, Enfatico, Dell, and Y&R, where he has informally held the role of head of art for Asia/Pacific and chief creative officer for Y&R, Beijing since the beginning of 2010. His appointment was made official last month by Matthew Godfrey, Y&R's president, Asia/Pacific since March 2010.
