HONG KONG (AdAgeChina.com) -- Time Warner's CNN International has developed a live banner that syndicates real-time news content from Cnn.com.
The banner is running on key web sites owned by online publishers such as Yahoo!, MSN, LinkedIn, South China Morning Post, The Straits Times, Malaysiakini and Business Times in Australia, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia and Singapore.
The live banner delivers real-time news stories as they happen around the world. The banner automatically updates its content by showcasing the top three headlines that appear on the homepage of CNN.com.
Users can read the full story by clicking on the live banner, which takes them to CNN.com. They can also share stories via email, and through popular social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter by posting the story directly to their wall.
Created by CNN's marketing and creative teams in Asia, in conjunction with Pinstorm, a Mumbai-based digital marketing agency, the banners are "a first for CNN globally. We're the first news brand anywhere to use this technology," said Chris Dwyer, a spokesman at CNN's regional headquarters in Hong Kong.
