Yahoo! explores ‘The Hot Zone,’ new technology

In “The Hot Zone,” Yahoo! sets out on an ambitious plan to cover every armed conflict in the world in one year—and in the process reinvent news reporting as we know it. Veteran war correspondent Kevin Sites combines backpack journalism, narrative story-telling techniques and the Internet to reach a global audience. Working in remote areas, often in the face of imminent danger, he uses the latest technology to file a 1,000-word story each night, along with photos and video. Add in audio feeds and interactive chats, and Mr. Sites brings these areas—the people and their struggles—to life for Yahoo! audiences around the world.

As a special bonus, see the new Yahoo! Tech Web site (tech.yahoo.com), with reviews, help and how-to advice for buying and using personal electronics. It features original episodic video programming, such as “Hook Me Up: Your Date With a Tech Makeover,” hosted by “Good Morning America” technology contributor Becky Worley.
