As Executive Director of Innovation Ben is responsible for introducing and driving innovation inside BBH in three main areas: new platforms, new partners and new processes.
Ben is also a co-Founder of BBH Labs, set up within BBH at the end of 2008. Labs is a more outwardly-focused technology-driven innovation group focused on ensuring the company is as smart as possible when it comes to change and the embrace of emerging platforms.
In addition to these broad agency-wide roles, Ben oversees the various projects on which BBH works with Google, both in Europe and North America.
Ben's been an account planner in advertising agencies for over 10 years, with spells at BMP DDB in London (where he headed planning on the agency's Volkswagen business) and at BBH London (as Global Planning Director on British Airways & Google). Ben moved to BBH in New York in 2007, where he co-ran ZAG, the agency's brand invention group, & was the Head of Account Planning. He sits on the Advisory Board of Boulder Digital Works at the University of Colorado.
A long time ago Ben completed a PhD at UCL in London on the Psychology of Ecstasy, & had a book published on a similar theme. He enjoys (reading about) polar exploration, military history, German design, anything to do with technology, & cats. He lives in Brooklyn, NY.
Ben runs BBH Labs' blog at http://bbh-labs.com, and can be found far too often tweeting at http://twitter.com/bbhlabs
