NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Irvine Robbins, co-founder of Baskin-Robbins, died of natural causes May 5 at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, Calif., at the age of 90. Founded with his brother-in-law in 1948, the ice cream chain is today part of Dunkin' Brands and has more than 5,800 franchises around the globe.

Spot Runner Gets $51M More in Funding; Looks to Expand to Radio, Print PaidContent.org's Rafat Ali reports on how Spot Runner, the company that helps marketers buy TV ad spots on local cable and broadcast using its online service, has raised a big $51 million fourth round from an international group of investors with an eye on expansion beyond the U.S. Spot Runner started with self-serve TV spots and has expanded into online video as broker and distributor. Radio and print will follow, CEO Nick Grouf told Ali. He said the money will be used to expand in other countries, and also for strategic acquisitions as they make sense. As for working with bigger media companies and agencies, just like Google and Overture, Spot Runner found that "by solving that targeting problem for small businesses, we also solved the problem for some of the largest businesses."

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Lauren Zalaznick's workload just got heavier. The president of NBC Universal's Bravo, Oxygen and Green Is Universal was named president of the company's Women and Lifestyle Entertainment Networks, adding oversight of iVillage to her daily duties. The networks will be bundled together under a new platform called Women @ NBCU, which will be introduced at NBC's upfront presentation to advertisers May 12 at New York's Radio City Music Hall.

FTC on Watch Against Wireless Ripoffs

WASHINGTON (AdAge.com) -- An FTC commissioner warned cellphone content providers they need to do a better job of disclosing the costs consumers incur when clicking or downloading services for their mobile devices. Speaking Tuesday at the start of a two-day Federal Trade Commission forum on mobile devices, the commissioner, Jonathan Leibowitz, said the agency will take action against deceptive or unfair content offers.
