NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- A Carnival Cruise Lines promotional stunt that planned to smash open a six-story, steel-reinforced pinata with a wrecking ball was halted by Philadelphia police. Drawing a large crowd, the event last Sunday was an effort to set a new Guinness record for the world's largest pinata as well as provide dramatic visual fodder for new video commercials. Created by Arnold, Boston, the gigantic pinata was filled with 8,000 pounds of candy.
