Tiger Woods - inspirational hard-worker blazing a new trail in a very old sport. Tiger Woods - serial adulterer. Lance Armstrong - came back from cancer to not only compete, but dominate in his sport and create an entire movement to improve public health. Lance Armstrong - liar, cheater and hypocrite. Oscar Pistorious - the first double amputee to compete side-by-side with "able bodied" athletes in the Olympics. Oscar Pistorious - suspected murderer.

It seems like the stories that raise people up on the pedestal keep getting bigger, and the bigger they are, the harder they fall. The question I have to ask is whether this continuous self-destruction of heroic endorsers is lowering the overall value of celebrity endorsements in general. Are we buying what the celebrities are selling, or are we just waiting for them to implode like the rest?
