Lil Jon Winery Broadens Definition of 'Crunk Juice'

While Other Rappers Go Cristal, Little Jonathan Takes It Easy With Vino

Little Jonathan wine is geared for getting tipsy, if not totally crunk.

It's now being confirmed by two different blogs: Little Jonathan Winery is indeed the brainchild of rapper and budding beverage mogul Lil Jon. While so many of his colleagues are promoting harder stuff, Jon is offering his own merlot, chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon in slick black bottles. Not exactly what I imagine when someone offers me some "Crunk Juice," but Jon is obviously looking to tap the underserved markets for "Quiet Night With Your Guy/Lady Juice" and "Mom and Dad Are Visiting Juice."

Many of you will notice the stark packaging difference between this and Jon's other beverage, the non-alcoholic Crunk!!! Energy Drink, which features pomegranate, caffeine and lots of other things I cannot and will not pronounce. Dear God, please do not mix this with Little Jonathan merlot.

In marginally related news, LeAnn Rimes' new, painful video for "Good Friends And A Glass Of Wine," in official release today, is partially sponsored by the Estancia Winery.

This is a slick move on Mr. Lil Jon's end. Since his portrayal by Dave Chappelle on his sketch comedy show, "The Chappelle Show" I always new Lil Jon had a refined sense of taste. The wine market is very cluttered (so is the energy drink market) but I presume the black bottles will be used to help differentiate the wine. Will Lil Jonathan wine surpass sales for Crunk Juice? Only time will tell...

i doubt chapelle's sketch was a 'refined depiction' of lil jon's taste and credibility. i do however resort to his love for punk rock, skating and 'the secret' to say that lil jon is just one of the homies who had white friends. cool white friends at that.

and that's cool. like his wine. though i generally stay away from stuff like this b/c i never like to feel controlled by what the market's doing, i may have to get a bottle just to see if it beats 'two buck chuck', which, i highly doubt but will at least give a go.
