Safe Sex Is Fergalicious
Black Eyed Peas Singer Promotes the M.A.C. Cosmetics AIDS Fund
The concept is a little convoluted, but Fergie and M.A.C. Cosmetics are working to tie together glamor and sexual responsibility with the Viva Glam VI campaign.
Fergie likes lip gloss and safe sex.
Have you heard that young women are especially at risk for HIV. Only 1 in 5 can correctly identify ways of preventing HIV transmission. C'mon ladies, we can do better than that. Responsibility is glamorous. Get hip. Educate yourself. Put into practice what you know - it can save your life.Sound advice, no? But the real draw to maccosmetics.com will be her new remix with lyricist PoetNameLife. Unfortunately, none of the additions to the song seem to have much to do with AIDS and more to do with poppin' lipgloss. Musically, we dig the humongous new sound, but will people be able to connect the dots from a limited-edition-philanthropic lip gloss to responsibility to AIDS? We wish she had done it for us, especially if this remix goes viral and loses the context of the M.A.C. site to help us out.
In fact, she's already denied her promiscuity in another song. Couldn't that have been more easily remixed for this purpose?
Amazingly, 100% of the $14 Lipglass price will benefit the M.A.C. AIDS Fund, which provides support for people around the world to fight and prevent AIDS. According to the cosmetics company, their organization has raised $100 million from the sale of lipgloss/lipglass since it started 14 years ago.
