MEDILL IMC HELPS
JUMP-START CAREERS
Prospective graduate students have a wide range of choices today. But for those who are interested in or already working in marketing and communications, the Medill Integrated Marketing Communications Program at Northwestern University may fit their needs perfectly.
Medill's approach begins with a few important realizations. Marketing has changed dramatically and will continue to change. The world is going digital, and the end-user is more in control than ever. Companies have become inundated with customer data, but having data and using it effectively are very different things.
Medill IMC students learn to find extraordinary insights in customer data and to use those insights to develop relevant branded communications.
Throughout their IMC studies, students experience the challenges of a real-world environment. They learn to engage and connect with audiences who are increasingly difficult to reach effectively. By doing so, they bring brands to a significant place in the lives of consumers and other stakeholders.
As organizations continue to adopt the IMC philosophy, Medill IMC graduates are making greater contributions by leading the integrated marketing process. And that makes for satisfying work experiences as well as rewarding careers.
WHAT WE OFFER:
- FULL-TIME PROGRAM Medill IMC offers a 15-month, five-quarter, full-time program based at its Northwestern University campus in Evanston, Ill. The program includes a full-quarter academic and professional residency in which students apply the tools acquired through the program to marketing communications projects with top companies and organizations in the U.S. and abroad.
- PART-TIME PROGRAM There's also a part-time, two-year program taught in the evenings in Chicago, where working marketing professionals can gain important skills and expertise to enhance their careers.
- DEGREE Master of science in integrated marketing communications
- FOCUS Marketing and communications are data-driven, customer-focused and multimedia. Three major forces shape integrated marketing today:
- Communication must be based on insights drawn from research and data.
- Communication has shifted from "push" to "pull" and "pass-along" to connect consumers and other stakeholders with brands.
- Brands must be open for business 24/7, through multiple technologies and a wide array of media.
- ADMISSIONS Representatives of Medill's Graduate Admissions Office conduct information sessions in Evanston and Chicago, and travel extensively in the fall to visit with prospective students. Go to www.medill.northwestern.edu and click on "Go to Admissions" to find the dates and locations of Admissions Office information sessions and visits across the country. Applications for fall 2008 are due Jan. 15, 2008.
- EMPLOYMENT Medill IMC graduates occupy management positions with major organizations in every aspect of marketing communications. They immediately become contributing members of successful teams.
