A little over a year ago, we brought together two healthy, mature agencies that shared Chicago roots and had complementary skill sets to create Draftfcb. We had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to decide how we were going to go to market. We had all the specialist disciplines (general advertising, direct, digital, retail, promotion, etc.) in one company. However, they were built in silos with separate P&Ls, cultures, management teams and go-to-market strategies.
We decided to do something radical and create a company that rallied around a single purpose—one that represents the balance between accountability and creativity, operating with a single P&L and a single, unified management team worldwide, all actively engaged in the business.
The essence of our offering was and is "Return on Ideas." To deliver that, we've developed a whole new way of working. We're assembling our creative, account planning, media and data experts around what we call "The Wheel." These people work hand-in-hand from the get-go. They have one common mission—to do what's best for the client—period. Hidden agendas are not welcome.
We want Draftfcb to be where the industry's most talented and diverse people want to work and with which the most enlightened clients want to partner. Recently, our Chicago agency was named one of the "101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For" in the area by the National Association for Business Resources. That's our goal for each of our offices.
