BOLGER TO LEAD AMMIRATI INTERNET MEDIA UNIT

FOOT LOCKER LOOKING AT AD AGENCIES
[new york] Woolworth Corp.'s Foot Locker is contacting agencies about its estimated $25 million account to "reassess resources," according to Foot Locker Senior VP-Marketing Jack Aneser. "There is no business up for review," Mr. Aneser said. He said he has already contacted six to seven "large and small" agencies and plans on "looking at another five to six." Bates USA, New York, currently handles the account.
P&G TV AGENCIES EYE YEAREND CONSOLIDATION
[cincinnati] Procter & Gamble Co., as expected, has sent letters to its roster agencies informing them the nation's biggest advertiser will consolidate planning, scheduling and buying for TV at one agency of record (AA, March 17). Total spending will be nearly $1 billion. The agencies are D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles and its sister TeleVest, Wells Rich Greene BDDP, Grey Advertising, Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising, N.W. Ayer & Partners, and Jordan, McGrath, Case & Taylor, all New York; and Leo Burnett USA and Euro RSCG Tatham, both Chicago. Agencies will present in October; a decision is expected in late November or early December.
PLAYTEX REVIEW NARROWED TO 2

HASSETT EXITS POINTCAST; CEO SEARCH UNDER WAY
[cupertino, calif.] Christopher Hassett, chairman-CEO and founder of Internet broadcast company PointCast, this week is expected to give up the CEO post. A search for a new CEO is under way. Insiders said the move is an acknowledgment that PointCast, which broadcasts news and information to computer desktops, needs a CEO with more experience running a large media company.
CNET ANNOUNCES NEW WEB DEVELOPMENT UNIT
[san francisco] CNET: The Computer Network on June 4 launches Web Builder, a new division devoted to tools and techniques for Web development. The division will feature a new, separately branded Web site, Builder.com, and an accompanying conference, Web.Builder, marking CNET's first entry into the conference business. Microsoft Corp. will be the site's exclusive launch sponsor. CNET tapped Greg Stern as senior VP, from VP-general manager of Seybold Seminars and Seybold Publications. In addition, Dan Shafer joins CNET as executive technical producer and editor at large. He previously worked for the online publication Salon.
