The premium vodka brand is set to appear in the latest Bond film, Casino Royale—continuing a tradition began in 1962 when a bottle of Smirnoff appeared in 007's first onscreen adventure, Dr. No. And to celebrate this classic combination, New York-based interactive design and technology studio Firstborn created a web experience for agency JWT/New York that seamlessly mixes the distinctive styles of Smirnoff and super-spy alike. The result is a smooth navigational interface designed around a spinning virtual Smirnoff bottle, which visitors can rotate and zoom in on to access content like drink recipes, photos and a movie trailer across various sections of the site.
The site also serves up the "Shaken and Stirred" contest, which challenges aspiring DJs to spin new interpretations of the famous James Bond musical theme. Contestants can download a ZIP file containing split tracks of composer John Barry's arrangement of the Bond theme in MP3 format, as well as access Acidplanet remixing software to start crafting their own takes on the original.
