Selected for $100 Million State Lottery Advertising Account

SACRAMENTO, CALIF. (AdAge.com) -- The California State Lottery named Omnicom Group's DDB Worldwide, Los Angeles, to handle its four-year, $100 million advertising account.

The contract, which includes both creative and media, has an option for a one-year renewal.

Other contenders included creative incumbent Grey Global Group's Grey Worldwide, Los Angeles; independent shop Butler, Shine Stern, Sausalito, Calif., with Carat, Los Angeles Omnicom's TBWA/Chiat/Day, San Francisco; and Interpublic Group of Cos.' Foote, Cone & Belding, San Francisco. Grey Global's MediaCom, Los Angeles, is incumbent for media.

The formal decision to award the contract to DDB will be brought before the California Lottery Commission later this quarter. DDB's New York office holds the lottery contract for New York State.
