Holliday to Replace Rutman as CEO of MPG North America

Will Oversee All Operating Business Units of Havas Media

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Shaun Holliday is moving to CEO of MPG North America, replacing Charlie Rutman, who becomes a senior adviser to the agency beginning Jan. 1.

Mr. Holliday, 50, will oversee all the operating business units of Havas Media in the U.S. and Canada including MPG and digital unit Media Contacts. He will report to MPG Global CEO Maria Luisa Francoli and Alfonso Rodes, Global CEO of Havas Media.

Mr. Holliday was most recently CEO-in-residence at private-equity firm Gryphon Investors. Prior to that, he served as president-new business and innovation for Newell Rubbermaid, president-international for the Pepsi Bottling Group, CEO of Diageo's Guinness Ireland Group and GM of Frito-Lay's Direct Division.

As established in his contractual agreement with MPG when he joined the agency, Mr. Rutman will join the MPG North America Advisory Board Jan. 1 and become a senior adviser to MPG. Mr. Rutman, 57, was tapped help MPG in 2005 as it struggled with the loss of its Volkswagen of America client.

He formerly was president of Aegis Group's Carat USA while the agency was on a tear scooping up new clients from Pfizer to Philips Electronics, and before that he spent time at the now defunct D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles.
