Agency Handled TV, Print Creative Account Since 2002

NEW YORK ( -- Wilmington, Del.-based ING Direct has split with ad agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty, which handled TV and print advertising for the financial services firm since March 2002, an ING Direct spokeswoman said.

Asked if a review is planned, she said that "nothing has been decided."

Measured spending
ING Direct, which spent $13.6 million in measured media in 2003, according to TNS Media Intelligence/CMR, continues to use Interpublic Group of Cos.' Gillespie, in Lawrenceville, N.J., for direct mail efforts.

The company's marketing also includes outdoor advertising as well as a number of branded cafes that operate in New York, Los Angeles and Philadelphia, and in major urban centers outside the U.S. The first cafe opened in Toronto in 1997. 

New York-based Bartle Bogle is backed by Publicis Groupe.

ING Direct is a unit of Dutch bank ING Bank.
