SAN FRANCISCO (AdAge.com) -- Leap Wireless International has named three finalists in its search for an agency for its estimated $15 million to $20 million account, executives familiar with the situation said.
The finalists are independent shops
Select Resources International, West Hollywood, Calif., is handling the review. The previous agency on the business was the Johnson Group, Chattanooga, Tenn.
Leap spent $27.5 million in measured media in 2002, and $2.1 million for the first quarter of 2003, according to TNS Media Intelligence/CMR.
Leap, based in San Diego, Calif., filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in April. Leap unit Cricket Communications targets new cell phone users. About one-third of Cricket's users do not have local phone service, a company spokeswoman said.
