Energy BBDO Chief Creative Officer Mark Taylor is leaving, the agency said Friday.
Energy BBDO Chief Creative Officer Resigns
Mr. Taylor has resigned because of personal reasons, effective immediately, the shop said in a statement. "There are no plans to replace Mr. Taylor at this time," the statement said. "His responsibilities will be assumed internally by the agency's existing group of executive creative directors."
Mr. Taylor's exit comes after Bud Light earlier this month moved its business from BBDO to Wieden & Kennedy. BBDO first won Bud Light in June 2013, later adding Bud Light Platinum and other line extensions in 2014.
BBDO originally handled the work out of the Chicago and New York offices, but moved the account to New York in April of this year. In a gaffe that drew national headlines earlier this year, a version of a Bud Light bottle labels carried a message some related to rape culture.
Energy BBDO also recently lost the Lay's account after the brand shifted to a project approach for its creative.
Mr. Taylor was known for his prior work with MDC's CP&B, including Burger King's Subservient Chicken campaign and the revival of the King mascot. He was preceded at Energy BBDO by Dan Fietsam, who is now exec VP of FCB Global.
