Hilton Hotels Puts Creative Biz Into Review

Unclear if Incumbent Y&R Will Defend $51 Million Account

CHICAGO (AdAge.com) -- Hilton Hotels has placed its creative advertising account in review, a spokesman said.

"I can tell you we are conducting a closed review of a small group of agencies," said a Hilton spokesman. "It's a great opportunity for us to find a partner who can support our global presence."

It wasn't immediately clear whether the incumbent, WPP's Y&R, will defend the account. It has handled the brand since 2005.

Hilton Hotels operates more than 500 hotels in 76 countries. The review does not include other brands owned by parent Hilton Worldwide, which include Doubletree, Conrad, Hilton Garden Inn, Embassy Suites, Hampton and Waldorf-Astoria.

A Y&R spokeswoman couldn't immediately comment.

The brand spent $51 million on measured media in the U.S. last year, according to Kantar Media.
