Streamlining: Publicis Creates North America Umbrella
Publicis Groupe is already bundling resources as it prepares for its merger with Omnicom Group next year and seeks efficiencies.
The Paris-based holding company is streamlining its separate Publicis USA and Publicis Canada creative agency operations under a new North America umbrella.
Publicis USA offices include New York-based Publicis Kaplan Thaler, San Francisco-based Riney, Publicis Dallas and Publicis Seattle. Publicis Canada has offices in Toronto, Montréal, Calgary and Windsor.
Publicis Canada President-CEO Andrew Bruce will become CEO of Publicis North America. Mr. Bruce has been with Publicis since 1999. In January, he'll relocate from Canada to New York, where he'll also oversee Publicis Kaplan Thaler.
Susan Gianinno, chairman and CEO of Publicis USA, has been named chairman of the newly expanded region. She'll hold on to her client-facing role, the company said in a statement.
Publicis Canada Creative Director Duncan Bruce will take over for Andrew Bruce as president in the region.
Combining those operations should help Publicis create some efficiencies in North America ahead of its merger with Omnicom toward the middle of next year. Publicis and Omnicom committed to finding $500 million in annual cost savings by year five.
